Football Recap: Benton Tigers vs. Captain Shreve Gators
Benton extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-4. They fell 59-48 to the Captain Shreve Gators. The Tigers were down 52-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
When it comes to explaining why Benton lost, don't look at Malachi Zeigler. Despite the final result, he threw for 373 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 70 yards and one score on only seven carries. Benton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 42-35 win against Leesville on the 2nd. As for Captain Shreve, they have also already played their next contest, a 66-56 victory against Airline on the 3rd.
