Basketball Recap: Northport Find Success

Northport hadn't done well against Republic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Northport Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-36 victory over the Republic Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-43 two weeks ago.

Northport's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Republic, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Northport will be playing in front of their home fans against Cusick at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Republic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
