The Dillon Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 69-55 fall against Southeastern Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dillon Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thompson Stone, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Stone hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Sean Locklear, who scored 17 points.
Dillon Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Southeastern Christian Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Dillon Christian the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Conway Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Southeastern Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Liberty Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 512th, while Southeastern Christian Academy is ranked 196th).
