Basketball Recap: Barron Collier Takes a Loss

Barron Collier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 58-46 to the First Baptist Academy Lions. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Barron Collier lost, don't look at Peyton Heffelfinger. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 11 on her way to 19 points. That's the most points Heffelfinger has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Viotto, who went 6 for 10 en route to 12 points.

Barron Collier's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for First Baptist Academy, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Barron Collier wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-18 victory against Key West on the 31st. As for First Baptist Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-32 defeat against Gateway on the 31st.
