Volleyball Recap: Union Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Bradford Prep

Union Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Bradford Prep Bears on Tuesday. Cardinals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bears since Tuesday.

While Union Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 25-14.

Kylie Wilson paced Union Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Wilson got some help from Bailey McManus and her 16 assists. Wilson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kylie Harman, racking up two apiece.

Union Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Central Academy of Technology & Arts on the 13th. As for Bradford Prep, they will be taking part in a tournament against NCSSM: Durham at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
