Softball Game Preview: Satsuma Gators vs. Daphne Trojans

The Satsuma Gators are taking a road trip to face off against the Daphne Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Satsuma is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Spain Park just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. Neither they nor the Jaguars could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, Daphne faced Orange Beach in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Trojans lost 17-1 to the Makos. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Trojans, who until this game were averaging 2.16 runs allowed.

Abby J Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Daphne's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 31-6. Satsuma's draw makes their record 23-14-3 this season.

Satsuma came up short against Daphne in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 8-3. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
