Baseball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-2 to the Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish. The Red Tornadoes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Fighting Irish from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Vince Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jones is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Easten Powell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Bishop McGuinness, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bishop McGuinness beat Clinton by a score of 12-1 on Tuesday.
