Jackson City can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past the Somerset Christian Cougars 5-3. The win was just what Jackson City needed coming off of an 11-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Kannan Lovins made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Lovins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jacob Morgan was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Elige Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
