Baseball Game Preview: Greeneview Rams vs. Greenon Knights

For the second straight game, Greeneview will face off against Greenon. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greeneview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Greeneview turned things around against Greenon on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Knights. Considering the Rams have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Nick Hassid made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chase Walker and Max Penrod did most of the damage at the plate: Walker went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Penrod went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. Walker has become a key player for Greeneview: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lyriq Abling, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Greeneview's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Greenon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Greenon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greeneview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464.
