Football Game Preview: Chaffey Tigers vs. Rowland Raiders + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Chaffey will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Rowland Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Chaffey was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 28-24 to Rim of the World.

Although Chaffey took the loss, they still got scores from Justin Alcantara, Carlos Vasquez, and Andrew Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, Rowland put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Pioneer with points to spare, taking the game 36-21.

Chaffey better keep an eye on CJ Carrillo. He was instrumental in Rowland's win, rushing for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 62 receiving yards and one score. Carrillo has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jose Valadez, who threw for 183 yards and two TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Rowland's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Chaffey, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Chaffey didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Rowland when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 30-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
