Basketball Preview: Dickinson Gators vs. Clear Brook Wolverines
Dickinson has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Clear Brook Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dickinson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
Last Friday, Dickinson beat the Wildcats 54-45.
Dickinson can attribute much of their success to David Chong, who scored 14 points along with five assists and four steals, and Diego Sanchez, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanchez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Scoby, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Clear Brook was beaten by the Chargers 83-44 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Clear Brook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 624th, while the Chargers are ranked 86th).
Dickinson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-17 record this season. As for Clear Brook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season.
Dickinson strolled past the Wolverines in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 79-65. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dickinson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
