Basketball Game Preview: Fike Demons vs. Beddingfield Bruins

Fike and Beddingfield are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2021, but not for long. The Fike Demons will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Beddingfield Bruins at 7:00 p.m. Fike knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Beddingfield likes a good challenge.

Fike will bounce into Friday's game after beating West Johnston, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Fike took down West Johnston 73-55 on Tuesday. While the Demons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Fike had a senior duo take command as William Monk dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards and Kameron Barbee dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. Monk's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Braylen Loftin was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Beddingfield entered their tilt with Greene Central on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 58-51.

Fike's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Beddingfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Fike against Beddingfield when the teams last played back in November, as the squad secured a 99-65 victory. In that contest, Fike amassed a halftime lead of 60-32, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
