Basketball Recap: Spanaway Lake Comes Up Short

After flying high against Yelm last Friday, Spanaway Lake came back down to earth. The Spanaway Lake Sentinels took a hard 81-63 fall against the Bonney Lake Panthers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sentinels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-59 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Spanaway Lake still got an impressive performance from Sean Rector, who posted 20 points. Darius Alexander was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Spanaway Lake has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Bonney Lake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.

Spanaway Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-56 victory against Bethel on the 30th. As for Bonney Lake, they have also already played their next match, a 59-42 win against Graham-Kapowsin on the 30th.
