 Eustis and Deltona are an even 5-5 against one another  since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Eustis Panthers will head out on the road to  challenge  the Deltona Wolves at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Eustis will be strutting in after a  win while Deltona will be coming in after a  defeat.
 Last Friday, Eustis had just enough and edged Montverde Academy out  2-1.
  Couper Gatch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.
 At the plate, Eustis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ledger Pleasant, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 After soaring to a six-point  victory in their last game, Deltona came back down to earth  on Tuesday. They fell just short of Father Lopez by a score of  4-2.
  Jesse Page was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out six batters over  5.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Jayden Lochiatto made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-2 with two  doubles and a  stolen base.
 Eustis now  has a winning record of 6-5. As for Deltona, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record  this season.
 Eustis came out on top in a nail-biter against Deltona  in their previous matchup  back in February of 2023, sneaking past  3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eustis since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
