Basketball Game Preview: Delaware Academy Bulldogs vs. Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats

The Delaware Academy Bulldogs will take on the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Delaware Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Oneonta to the tune of 64-34 on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, everything went Bainbridge-Guilford's way against Unadilla Valley on Friday as Bainbridge-Guilford made off with a 54-30 victory. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Delaware Academy better focus on containing Jayslin Henderson and Marissa Mayo as the pair were huge in Bainbridge-Guilford's win. Henderson went 6 for 14 on her way to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals, while Mayo posted 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Mayo has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyn Winans, who put up eight points.

Bainbridge-Guilford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32 points. As for Delaware Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Delaware Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Bainbridge-Guilford in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 45-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Delaware Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
