Volleyball Game Preview: Southside Sharks vs. Barbe Buccaneers + How To Watch

The Southside Sharks will head out on the road to face off against the Barbe Buccaneers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Southside sitting on seven straight victories and Barbe on five.

Southside proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Lafayette 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sharks have posted since September 20th.

Southside wouldn't go down easily and took Lafayette into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-18, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Barbe made easy work of New Iberia on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Southside's record is now 13-4. As for Barbe, their record now sits at 21-9.

Everything went Southside's way against Barbe in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Southside made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sharks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
