Softball Recap: Dickinson Takes a Loss

Dickinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Memorial Tigers, falling 27-12. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-0 back in April.

Jayelin Severino made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nadine Mendoza, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Dickinson's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Memorial, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Coming up, Dickinson will head out on the road to challenge University Academy Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Generals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
