Softball Recap: Hardin Valley Academy Takes a Loss

If Hardin Valley Academy was feeling good fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Carter last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks fell 6-2 to the Knoxville Central Bobcats on Wednesday. The Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Hardin Valley Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Sosebee, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hardin Valley Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Knoxville Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

Coming up, Hardin Valley Academy will be playing at home against Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.59 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Knoxville Central, they will take on Powell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bobcats 3.2, the Panthers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
