Baseball Game Preview: Holtville Vikings vs. Vista Panthers

The Holtville Vikings will head out to take on the Vista Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Friday, Holtville didn't have quite enough to beat Palo Verde Valley and fell 3-2. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Holtville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Pacheco, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI. Davian Ambrocio also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Vista challenged Escondido on Wednesday. Vista came out on top against Escondido by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Xavier LaPena was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandyn Ketcher, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Holtville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Vista, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
