Flag Football Recap: Saint Joseph Skates Past St. Mary's Academy with Ease

Saint Joseph got themselves on the board against St. Mary's Academy on Wednesday, but St. Mary's Academy never followed suit. They breezed past the Belles to the tune of 27-0. The result was nothing new for the Jesters, who have now won 11 games by 20 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Saint Joseph's win came down to the chemistry between Lexi Loya and her top target Jaclynn Brennan. Loya threw for 217 yards and three TDs while Brennan picked up 41 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Brennan also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, defending one pass and snagged two interceptions. Lexy Urias made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Saint Joseph didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Brennan led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Urias got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Saint Joseph's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.2 points over those games. As for St. Mary's Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Saint Joseph has already played their next contest, a 26-14 victory against Notre Dame (SO) on the 25th. As for St. Mary's Academy, they will square off against St. Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
