Volleyball Recap: Mira Mesa Beats University City for Their Third Straight Victory

Mira Mesa proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the University City Centurions, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Marauders as they're now sitting on three straight.

Mira Mesa was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (116-111), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 26-28, 29-27, 25-23, 16-25, 15-13.

Mira Mesa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ejaykeoni Lumanlan out in front who had 15 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Lumanlan is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game. Another player making a difference was Elias Santos, who had 15 assists and seven digs.

Mira Mesa now has a winning record of 10-9. As for University City, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.
