Volleyball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Ridgedale last Saturday, Riverdale came back down to earth. The Falcons came up short against the Lakota Raiders on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Riverdale took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-20, 26-24.

Their offense was headlined by Leah Miller and Shayla Newfer, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Paige Courtad and her 13 assists. Miller also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Carly Karcher, each putting up two.

Riverdale has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Lakota, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Riverdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakota, they will take on Gibsonburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
