Volleyball Recap: Baldwin Park Starts Season with Win at Home

Baldwin Park gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bassett Olympians by a score of 3-1. For the Braves, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Olympians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Baldwin Park was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-14, 19-25, 25-20.

Karen Moreno paced Baldwin Park's offense, picking up 11 kills. Moreno got some help from Mya Martinez and her 20 assists. Moreno was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Baldwin Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Covina on the 13th. As for Bassett, they will challenge Calvary Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
