The Clay-Chalkville Cougars will welcome the Mountain Brook Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Clay-Chalkville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Hillcrest, who was ranked 18th at the time (Clay-Chalkville was ranked 22nd). Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 66-37 stomp they got against Hillcrest. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mountain Brook waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They secured a 51-45 W over the Yellowjackets.

Mountain Brook's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Clay-Chalkville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Clay-Chalkville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-51 loss to Mountain Brook in their previous matchup back in January of 2024.
