Soccer Game Preview: Southwestern vs. Auburn

The Southwestern Piasa Birds will square off against the Auburn Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwestern is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Southwestern had taken Gillespie down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Piasa Birds fell just short of the Miners by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Auburn was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to Monticello.

Auburn now has a losing record of 8-9-1. As for Southwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

Southwestern might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Auburn in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Piasa Birds were down 4-0.
