Volleyball Recap: Westville Comes Up Short

Westville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Michigan City Wolves. The Blackhawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Alyssa Bechinske paced Westville's offense, picking up eight kills. Bechinske got some help from Myleigh Weaver and her 14 assists.

Westville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Michigan City, they moved to 2-19 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Westville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against South Bend Career Academy on the 4th. As for Michigan City, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Chesterton on the 7th.
