Recap: Williston-Elko Blue Devils vs. Denmark-Olar Vikings
If the Williston-Elko Blue Devils were feeling good off their 70-41 takedown of the Horse Creek Academy Stallions last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Williston-Elko was beaten by Denmark-Olar 72-45 on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Williston-Elko in their matchups with Denmark-Olar: they've now lost eight in a row.
Robert Bovain continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Denmark-Olar, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. Bovain is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tykeen Ross, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Williston-Elko bumped their record down to 1-2 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Denmark-Olar, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Williston-Elko will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ridge Spring-Monetta at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Denmark-Olar won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against White Knoll at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
