Softball Recap: Paint Valley Takes a Loss

Paint Valley extended their losing streak to 13 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-19 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Chillicothe Cavaliers. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 12-1 to the Cavaliers when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Chillicothe, their record is now 16-6. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Chillicothe's part, Cambriana Rittinger spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. Rittinger has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chillicothe got a massive performance out of Alyssa Dudley, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Those four hits gave Dudley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cadie Boltenhouse, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Paint Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chillicothe, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-1 victory against Unioto on the 15th.
