Football Recap: Emmit Nieslanik Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Basalt + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Glenwood Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They secured a 13-7 W over the Basalt Longhorns on Friday. This was payback for the Demons, who suffered a 35-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glenwood Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmit Nieslanik, who rushed for 90 yards and one score, and also threw for 77 yards and one touchdown. Lamanie Portillo was another key rusher, gaining 122 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Glenwood Springs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Basalt only rushed for 76 rushing yards.
