Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Charter Lions vs. High Tech CV Bruins

Liberty Charter is 2-8 against High Tech CV since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lions will head out to face off against the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. Liberty Charter is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

On Monday, Liberty Charter made easy work of High Tech Mesa and carried off a 12-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 11 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Logan Hays was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Drake Keehl was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Liberty Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

High Tech CV played against Ocean View Christian on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Liberty Charter pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for High Tech CV, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Everything went Liberty Charter's way against High Tech CV when the teams last played back in April, as Liberty Charter made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
