Basketball Recap: Cambridge Christian Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cambridge Christian can now relate to. They took a blow against the Victory Christian Academy Storm on Wednesday, falling 75-23. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while the Storm are ranked 41st).

Leading Victory Christian Academy to victory were Quinton Wilson and MJ McCalla. Wilson went 6-for-7 en route to 17 points and three steals, while McCalla went 9-for-10 to rack up 20 points and five boards. McCalla is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last 26 games he's played. Jozia Scott was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Cambridge Christian and nudges their season record down to 13-10. As for Victory Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-6.

Cambridge Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Victory Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 82-61 victory against City of Life Christian Academy on the 17th.
