Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fairfield duked it out with Norwich on Saturday. The Falcons fell 2-0 to the Eagles. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-9.

Addy Denning was the offensive standout of the match as she had five aces.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17-5. As for Norwich, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season.

Fairfield will venture away from home to take on Attica on Tuesday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Norwich, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Pretty Prairie on the 11th.
