Basketball Recap: St. Stephens Beats Draughn for Their Sixth Straight Victory

While St. Stephens didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Draughn Wildcats on Tuesday as they made off with a 75-54 victory. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

St. Stephens was led to victory by Alan Wilson and Jachavis Sherrill. Wilson made all 7 shots he took to post 17 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Sherrill went 8-for-11 to rack up 21 points and five boards. The game was Sherrill's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Chatham Donley, who posted 12 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: St. Stephens was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

The win keeps St. Stephens at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 67.8 points this season. As for Draughn, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
