Basketball Recap: Bryson Allred's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ledford over Concord

Ledford and Concord squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Ledford had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Concord Spiders by a score of 59-56. The Panthers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Ledford lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bryson Allred, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024. Isaiah Peele was another key player, going 6-for-12 en route to 17 points.

Concord was led to victory by Jayden Beyan and Kyzen Coleman. Beyan shot 56% from the field on his way to 20 points and four steals, while Coleman went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Beyan's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Reid, who had eight points and seven boards.

Ledford's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Concord, they pushed their record up to 19-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Ledford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Concord, they have already played their next match, a 50-42 defeat against Central Davidson on the 28th.
