Soccer Game Preview: Liberty vs. Emerson

The Liberty Redhawks will head out on the road to take on the Emerson Mavericks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Liberty lost 6-1 to Memorial on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Redhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Warriors are ranked 69th).

Meanwhile, Emerson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Centennial.

Emerson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Liberty beat Emerson by a goal when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 1-0. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Emerson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
