Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Patriots vs. Freedom Falcons

Heritage has gone 8-2 against Freedom recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Heritage will be strutting in after a win while Freedom will be coming in after a defeat.

Heritage will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Pittsburg on Thursday. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Pirates. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Heritage got a massive performance out of Alonzo Alvarez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Alvarez a new career-high. Jason Stevens was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Freedom unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 5-1 to California.

Dylan DeLauter was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run. Another player making a difference was Andrew Borrego, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Heritage, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Heritage was able to grind out a solid win over Freedom in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
