Football Recap: Gabrielino Takes a Loss

The Gabrielino Eagles came up short against the Whittier Cardinals on Friday and fell 34-25.

Among those leading the charge was Michael Santos, who threw for 68 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 60 yards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (156.3).

Gabrielino dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Whittier, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gabrielino will take on Azusa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Whittier, they will challenge Rosemead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
