Softball Recap: Ridgecroft Wins Going Away Against Northeast Academy

Ridgecroft's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Northeast Academy Eagles with a sharp 9-1 win. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Klaire Cherry was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Vaughan, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Lacey Berryman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Ridgecroft's record is now 8-2. As for Northeast Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Ridgecroft wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 22-0 loss against Lawrence Academy on the 14th. As for Northeast Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Bethel Assembly Christian Academy on the 14th.
