Baseball Game Preview: Pickens Blue Flame vs. Crescent Tigers

The Pickens Blue Flame will venture away from home to square off against the Crescent Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Friday, Pickens came up short against Walhalla and fell 7-3. The Blue Flame haven't had much luck with the Razorbacks recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Pickens saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Ferguson, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Brayden Smith was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crescent, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Greenwood Christian 2-1 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Pickens' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Crescent, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4.

Pickens couldn't quite finish off Crescent when the teams last played back in March of 2021 and fell 2-0. Can Pickens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
