Basketball Game Preview: Burley Bobcats vs. Jerome Tigers

Burley is 2-8 against Jerome since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Burley Bobcats face off against the Jerome Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Burley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell just short of Century by a score of 69-67 on Thursday. The Bobcats' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Burley might have lost, but man, Cove Thompson was a machine: he went 9 of 18 en route to 23 points. Thompson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Gonzales, who posted eight points along with five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Jerome's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Century.

Burley's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Jerome, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Burley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jerome when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win. Does Burley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jerome turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
