Volleyball Recap: Smethport Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Smethport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Otto-Eldred Terrors, falling 3-0. If the Hubbers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Terrors when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Smethport was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-14, 25-17.

Alyssa Ayers paced Smethport's offense, picking up five kills. Ayers got some help from Jenna Goodman and her nine assists. Taylor Edgar controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Smethport's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Otto-Eldred, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Smethport has already played their next matchup (against Galeton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Otto-Eldred, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Coudersport on the 18th.
