Volleyball Recap: Kendall Roberts Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Hoover

After losing to Hoover the last time they met, Vestavia Hills decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rebels blew past the Buccaneers 3-0 on Tuesday.

The win didn't come easy: Hoover scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 25-21.

Vestavia Hills got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendall Roberts out in front who had 23 assists. Those 23 assists gave Roberts a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillie Hill, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Hoover's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cheyenne Conner, who had 18 digs and one assist, and Maria Binder, who had ten digs.

Vestavia Hills' record now sits at 5-3. As for Hoover, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Vestavia Hills will head out on the road to face off against Tuscaloosa County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hoover, they will be taking part in a tournament against Westminster Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
