Recap: Faith Christian Eagles vs. Gospel Light Christian
The Faith Christian Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 25 points or more this season. They blew past Gospel Light Christian 56-23 on the road. Faith Christian's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Despite the loss, Gospel Light Christian still got an impressive performance from Ali Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Phillips is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Gospel Light Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Faith Christian pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.67 points. As for Gospel Light Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Faith Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Asheboro Hybrid Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Asheboro Hybrid Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Monday. Gospel Light Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Woodland Baptist Christian at 4:30 p.m. on January 19, 2024.
