Softball Recap: Queen Creek Gets the Win

Queen Creek had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers 4-2. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Badgers: they've now won three in a row.

Alexis Mendez looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Queen Creek let Tayla Falquez and Delia Marquez run wild. Falquez went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Marquez went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Marquez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Reynolds, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Queen Creek's win bumped their record up to 27-6. As for Tucson High Magnet School, their loss dropped their record down to 24-10.

Queen Creek didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Pinnacle on the 14th. Tucson High Magnet School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
