Football Game Preview: Windthorst Trojans vs. Clarendon Broncos

The Windthorst Trojans will square off against the Clarendon Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Windthorst knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Clarendon likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Windthorst was fully in charge, breezing past Petrolia 64-22. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Windthorst got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brock Belcher out in front who threw for 260 yards and six touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 100 yards on only eight carries. Belcher is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Hunter Anderle was another key rusher, rushing for 178 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Windthorst was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 346 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Clarendon was able to grind out a solid win over Quanah on Friday, taking the game 44-36.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Windthorst, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
