Softball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Lexington lost against Reading Memorial back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Minutemen fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 8-7.

Lexington's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Reading Memorial, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lexington will head out to challenge Needham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Reading Memorial, they will challenge Westford Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grey Ghosts have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
