Baseball Game Preview: Chestnut Ridge Lions vs. Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers

The Chestnut Ridge Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Chestnut Ridge is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Bishop Guilfoyle just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marauders.

Meanwhile, Hollidaysburg came tearing into Wednesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 16-9 victory. Considering the Golden Tigers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hollidaysburg let Robbie Mullin and Tanner Rossman run wild. Mullin went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Rossman went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Mullin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Banks, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three runs.

Chestnut Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Hollidaysburg, their record is now 12-3.

Chestnut Ridge suffered a grim 19-4 defeat to Hollidaysburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
