Volleyball Recap: Okawville Comes Up Short

Okawville lost against Red Bud back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rockets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Musketeers. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14.

Jaycie Buss paced Okawville's offense, picking up seven kills. Buss got some help from Kenley Hackstadt and her nine assists. Aubrey Krieger controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Red Bud was led to victory by Maria Murry and Devyn Liefer. Murry had 11 digs and two aces, while Liefer had 12 digs. What's more, Murry posted two assists, the most she's had over her last seven matches.

Okawville's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Red Bud, they pushed their record up to 23-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Okawville will face off against Valmeyer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Red Bud, they will square off against Waterloo at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
