Basketball Recap: Emmy Kirk Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Aces Win

Bucklin posted their closest victory since February 2nd on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 win over the St. John Tigers. This was payback for the Red Aces, who suffered a 54-51 loss the last time these two teams met.

Bucklin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emmy Kirk out in front who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That's the most steals Kirk has posted since back in December of 2023. Becca Durler was another key player, putting up six points along with seven boards and three blocks.

The win made it two in a row for Bucklin and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for St. John, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Bucklin will take on Holcomb in a tournament on Friday. As for St. John, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Larned on December 17th.
