Football Game Preview: Madison Academy Mustangs vs. Plainview Bears

The Madison Academy Mustangs will square off against the Plainview Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Madison Academy sitting on seven straight victories and Plainview on nine (dating back to last season).

On Friday, Madison Academy strolled past St. John Paul II with points to spare, taking the game 48-29. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Falcons are ranked 293rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Daniel McCauley was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 80 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Plainview and New Hope had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bears claimed a resounding 48-7 win over the Indians. Considering the Bears have won six games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Academy's record is now 7-1. As for Plainview, their record now sits at 8-0.

Madison Academy beat Plainview 24-16 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
